CREAM MULTIPLES

WEST
Here’s what USDA/AMS had to say:
Cream volumes are readily available, and multiples are lower this week. Manufacturers requesting contracted condensed skim milk load deliveries are lighter, as expected for the holiday week. Stakeholders report lighter condensed skim milk demand in California, partly attributed to processing facilities permanently closing, but stronger demand outside of California. Condensed skim milk loads are more available this week.

CENTRAL
Here’s what USDA/AMS had to say:
Spot prices of Class III milk range from $9-under to $0.50-over this week. Lower cream multiples were reported this week. Cream production is strong in the region, while demand is lighter due to planned holiday downtime this week and next. Contacts say there is plenty of cream available in the Central region and they anticipate multiples to remain low through the end of the year.

NORTHEAST
Here’s what USDA/AMS had to say:
Many butter plants are taking spot volumes of milk and cream. Churns are operating at full capacity to alleviate a back log of raw milk. Condensed skim prices fell again this week. Condensed skim is widely available, and demand is very low. Most prices for condensed skim fell below Class price.
