Here’s what USDA/AMS had to say:

Cream is readily available and demand is mixed. Cream multiples are higher for the bottom end of both ranges this week.

Cream production remains strong in the Central region and spot loads are available. Churns are more active this week, but cream demand remains light as butter makers are using internal cream volumes to run busy production schedules. Some butter makers are securing cream at lower multiples this week from nearby processors who are offering loads at low prices due to unplanned downtime. Higher cream multiples were reported for Class II and at the top of the All Classes range, amid strong demand from Class II and Class III processors. Contacts say these processors are purchasing increased volumes of cream to run busy schedules and rebuild inventories.
