Cream production is strong and contacts say strong demand from Class II processors is keeping inventories snug. In the Southwest, some butter makers say they are securing cream from the West to keep churns active. Butter production is steady in the Central region.
NORTHEAST

Butter makers report very few spot purchases of cream, and contracted volumes are sufficient for current schedules. Churns are still operating seven days a week. Many facilities are purchasing spot loads of cream to bolster ice cream production.
